Schipper Bosch, developer of the Kleefse Waard Industrial Park (IPKW) in Arnhem, wins the 2015 Gouden Piramide Award. West 8 working in collaboration with IPKW and the Municipality Arnhem was responsible for the urban design and master plan of the area. -

Harvard awards the 12th Veronica Rudge Green Prize in Urban Design to Madrid Río, designed by Burgos & Garrido, Porras & La Casta, Rubio & Álvarez-Sala, and West 8. According to the Jury "The professional and pedagogical value of Madrid Río is that it makes evident the diversity of economic, technical, political, logistical, and cultural challenges that its designers have surmounted.” -
The Depoldering of Noordwaard is Complete

On October 12th, Noordwaard was officially opened. Since 2010, the Rijkswaterstaat has restructured the 4.450 ha polder to return it to nature and allow space for the safe discharge of high water levels. West 8 and IPV Delft have designed 33 bridges and 12 water pumping stations in this polder landscape which offer new opportunities for recreation. -

The recently opened Queens Quay Revitalization project in Toronto has been awarded a prestigious Brownie Award by The Canadian Urban Institute (CUI). The project picked up the Best Overall Project on the Neighbourhood Scale at this year’s award ceremony. -

Rio Cali Linear Park becomes reality with official ground breaking ceremony

On the 30th of July the Mayor of Cali, Mr. Rodrigo Guerrero Velasco planted a yellow Guayacan tree on the banks of the River Cali. The official tree planting ceremondy kicks off construction on the first phase of the Río Cali Park in Colombia. -
First hops harvest at Máximapark

The Friends of Máximapark, Councilor Kees Geldof, and local volunteers harvested the first hops crop from the Máximapark pergola on Saturday the 26th of September. Mr Geldof, who planted the hops plants in spring 2015, took down the first cones. -

Adriaan Geuze and the Trust for Governors Island Preview the View from Outlook Hill

On the 22nd of September The Trust for Governors Island and West 8’s Adriaan Geuze led an exclusive preview of the views from the top of Outlook Hill, 70 feet above New York Harbor. The event was followed by a public preview weekend on the 26 and 27 of September, that saw 2000 visitors experience the Hills construction site for the first time ever. -
