Design for Garden of British Design Museum in Kensington, London Unveiled

West 8 is privileged to have the opportunity to work on the site of the former Commonwealth Institute in Kensington, London. The project consists of an enabling development of residential buildings, which will allow for the renovations to the Grade 2 Heritage listed Parabola Building, soon to become the new home of the British Design Museum. The garden will be named as 'Holland Green Garden'. -

The Provenierstunnel, another part of the extensive Rotterdam Centraal project by TEAM CS (a cooperation of Benthem Crouwel Architects, MVSA Meyer en Van Schooten Architecten and West 8), is publicly accessible again for pedestrians and cyclists going from Rotterdam North to the city centre and vice versa. -
Unveiling of 40 meter wide LED screen in Rotterdam Centraal

On Monday, August 26th, the Central Station's new 40m x 4.5m high LCD screen was officialy opened. Designed by TEAM CS, the screen will broadcast footage of the Rotterdam harbor, Europes largest port, and aims to reconnect the city, its people and its visitors with the city's lively harbor. -

WXY + West 8 Team Shortlisted for “Rebuild by Design” Hurricane Sandy Competition

HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan announced on the 8th of August that the WXY+West 8 Team is one of 10 international teams selected from a pool 148 teams from across 15 countries, to participate in Stages 2 and 3 of "Rebuild by Design", a multi-stage design competition tasked with promoting resilience for the Sandy-affected region. Donovan announced that he had "never seen a collection of interdisciplinary talent like that represented by the (selected) teams." -

West 8 in collaboration with Montpellier architects, Boyer-Percheron-Assus and Merlin, is the winner of the urban design competition for the conversion of the former School of Infantry site (EAI) (35 ha) in the city of Montpellier. Team West 8’s envisions a sustainable neighborhood, with diverse architecture and an environmentally enhanced park. -
