Major Works underway at Longwood's Main Fountain Garden

Before and during shots show that construction is well under way for the revitalization of Longwood’s 85-year old Main Fountain Garden. The excavation, construction of utility tunnels, masonry restoration and fountain infrastructure installation are all clearly visible from the Conservatory Overlook. Soils and early landscape installation will commence later this year, with the Garden’s Grand Reopening slated for Spring of 2017.
The Main Fountain Garden project is a design collaboration between Beyer Blinder Belle Architects, West 8 and Fluidity Design Consultants, and is West 8’s first built work at Longwood. The Main Fountain Garden’s revitalization was designated as one of the highest priorities in West 8’s 2011 Master Plan for Longwood’s entire acreage.To see a visualization of the MFG project, click here
